Protests swell in Pakistan

More than a thousand Shi'ite Muslims took to street of Pakistan's southern city of Karachi on Sunday to protest against Wednesday's attack on a revered Shi'ite shrine in Iraq. Bombing at Samarra's al-Askari mosque on Wednesday by suspected Al-Qaeda militants toppled its two golden minarets. Condemning attacks on holy sites in Iraq, the Shi'ite clerics said it was the handiwork of America, Britain and their agents who wanted to destabilize the Middle East region.
