US Marines patrol Afghanistan

The US Marines deployed to Afghanistan to make up for a shortfall of troops are making their rounds of villages where the Taliban are slowly increasing their presence. The marines were deployed after Washington failed to persuade NATO allies to fill the shortfall of troops. These troops face daily threats of suicide bombers and improvised explosive devices.
