Former Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has called for Ukraine to develop a legal, secure and practical way to restore elections despite the ongoing war, arguing that “democracy cannot be held hostage by Russia.” He says a prolonged conflict cannot be allowed to give the Kremlin de facto control over when Ukrainians next choose their leaders.
