Locked gates, phones switched off: Hindu family of four found dead under suspicious circumstances in Bangladesh
A retired school teacher and his family were found dead in a locked house in Bangladesh. The bodies were found in different areas of home.
A shocking case has come to light from Rangpur city in Bangladesh, where a family of four- a retired Hindu school teacher, his wife, and their two children- were found dead inside their locked home late last night, according to local media.
The bodies were found in different areas of the residence, and the belongings were found scattered, The Daily Star reported, citing a police official. The bodies were recovered around 11:30 pm from the Daspara (Machhuapara) area.

Bodies found in different areas of home
The deceased were identified as:
Ganapati Chakraborty (65) was a retired teacher from Rangpur Zilla School. He was found dead on the roof.
Pritilata Chakraborty (50), his wife, was found dead on the staircase.
Agami Chakraborty Prarthi (23), the daughter, was also found on the staircase. The locals stated that she completed her master’s in English from Carmichael College this year.
The couple's son (12), was a Class 5 student, according to the locals cited in the report. His body was found under a bed.
Suspicion of robbery, strangulation
According to the report, Subir Chowdhury, in charge of Rangpur Metropolitan CID, said the household belongings were found in disarray and added that it appears to be a case of robbery.
"The household belongings were found scattered and in disarray. For now, it appears to be a robbery," he said.
The official added, "However, nothing can be confirmed until the investigation is completed."
Sanatan Chakrabarty, deputy commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police and head of the Detective Branch, informed that the bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsies.
“Initially, we suspect that they were strangled,” he said.
A joint investigation by police, CID and DB teams is underway.

Phones switched off, main gate locked
As per the Daily Star, Pritilata's younger sister, Puja Chakraborty, said the family's mobile phones had been switched off since Thursday night.
She said, "We came to Daspara on Saturday night after finding their phones switched off."
She also added that the main gate of the house was locked and the lights inside were off. She further stated that she last spoke to her sister on Thursday afternoon.
Similarly, Ganapati's niece, Soma Chakraborty, said she had last spoken to her uncle on Thursday afternoon.
"My uncle had no enemies. After retiring from school, he started working as a homeopathic practitioner," she said.

What the locals said
According to the report, a local resident said that Ganapati had built the three-storey house; however, construction work was incomplete. He also said that the family was relatively new to the area.
The local resident also said that Ganapati was courteous.
