Elon Musk appears to stray from key protocol at Charlie Kirk's funeral service: ‘Did he just…’

Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO, was spotted at Charlie Kirk's funeral service at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Musk, who was earlier part of the Donald Trump administration, also shared a video showing the turnout at Kirk's service.
“Every seat in this giant arena that isn’t roped off for security is packed to the ceiling. Honored to be here. All for Charlie Kirk,” Musk wrote on his platform, X.

Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder, was fatally shot when attending an event at Utah Valley University on September 10. He was 31.
The video shared widely on social media showed Musk seated alone, with a cup next to him. He appeared to be looking at his phone. Musk was also seen wearing black – a deviation from the ‘preferred’ dress code laid out by TPUSA.
Did Elon Musk break dress code?
While Musk, in his black outfit, did not quite adhere to the ‘preferred’ dress code outlined by TPUSA, he did not break any protocol.
TPUSA stated that people must come in their Sunday best, with a preference for red, white, and blue – the colors of the American flag. Musk's black outfit is certainly formal enough to be categorized as one's Sunday best – which is basically one's finer, more respectable clothes, the kind one would wear to Church or to a special occasion.
Furthermore, Musk went with black, the traditional color worn at funerals. And, he had a white shirt on underneath, somewhat keeping to the color scheme that TPUSA showed a preference for.
Seeing Musk alone, some also had questions. “Is he elon musk ? And what is he sitting alone there,” a person asked on X. Yet another person commented, “All by himself…”.

Charlie Kirk, in his last interview, before the fatal shooting had highlighted entrepreneurship and praised Musk, calling him a ‘phenomenal entrepreneur’ and ‘unbelievable founder’.
Musk, meanwhile, accused the left of fostering and celebrating violence, in the wake of Kirk's killing.
