Rebecca Jollotta testimony: Psychiatric nurse who prescribed Lindsay Clancy meds offers stunning ‘weight loss’ details
Rebecca Jollotta, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, testified about treating Lindsay Clancy for postpartum psychosis.
Psychiatric nurse practitioner Rebecca Jollotta was summoned to provide testimony regarding her treatment of Lindsay Clancy at the South Shore perinatal behavioral clinic in 2022.
During her testimony on Tuesday, Jollotta stated that she has treated five women diagnosed with postpartum psychosis, in addition to hundreds of others suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety.
Clancy's attorney argues that she should be acquitted on the basis of insanity, asserting that she was experiencing extreme postpartum psychosis at the time she strangled her three children.

According to Jollotta, her involvement with Clancy began in 2022, following Julie Paul's decision to depart from their practice, where she had been treating Clancy.
During their initial meeting, Jollotta recounted Clancy's history while also utilizing some earlier information that Clancy had shared. This encompassed details regarding the medication Clancy had been prescribed and her visit to the South Shore Hospital emergency room in November.
Jollotta further mentioned that Clancy experienced a weight loss of six pounds between October 20 and November 16.
Jollotta expressed her belief that the antidepressant Remeron was an appropriate option for Clancy, stating, “it is a good choice for someone” who is experiencing “depression accompanied by anxiety and a reduced appetite.”
According to Jollotta, Clancy reported a diminished appetite and had lost weight since her visit to her primary care physician on October 20, when she weighed 130 pounds, to her subsequent appointment on November 16, where her weight was recorded at 124 pounds.
Alongside medication, Jollotta suggested therapy, mindfulness practices, and physical activity, which she noted had previously benefited Clancy.
Lindsay Clancy trial enters third week
Jollotta's testimony comes a day after Clancy's attorney criticized a psychiatrist who provided treatment to the postpartum mother in the months leading up to the January 2023 killings, citing the doctor's limited experience, the exclusively virtual appointments with Clancy, and the medications prescribed.
Clancy, 35, along with her ex-husband and the father of the children, Patrick, has filed separate lawsuits against the doctors and hospitals that treated her, alleging that they "overmedicated" her and failed to properly diagnose her with bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis. Clancy contends that these oversights contributed to her actions in killing Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in the basement of their Duxbury, Massachusetts home.
The former labor and delivery nurse faces three counts of first-degree murder and could be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole if found guilty.
