‘Charlie Kirk’ homework assignment to fifth grader in US stuns netizens; ‘No way is that real’

A quiz on Charlie Kirk's life and career that was given to fifth-grade students in the US turned viral for all the wrong reasons. The fatal shooting of the right-wing activist at a Utah college event last month caused a huge uproar among conservatives.
In a memorial address, US President Donald Trump had praised the conservative activist as a “great American hero” and “martyr”. On Friday, he also announced plans to award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.

The presently-viral video, which featured multiple sections from the assignment document, was initially posted on TikTok by a parent. Several drawings and a brief biography of Kirk were included in the multi-page booklet, which was named “The Life of Charlie Kirk.”
Additionally, it contained a one-page true-false test that required the kids to verify a number of facts, such as how he had died.
Students were instructed to create a description of his "legacy" on a different page, breaking it up by work, family, and other interesting information. The reading comprehension assignment in the packet additionally directed the fifth graders to describe how their beliefs affected their choices and way of living.
Reacting to the post, one user wrote: “What kind of school is this? Parents didn’t have a meltdown. Accomplishments of black people should be minimized, but a racist is glorified. Absolutely not.”
“No way is that real,” another wondered.
“What kind of school?” one more asked.
Charlie Kirk's death and Turning Point USA
Conservatives have pledged to continue Kirk's work of enticing young voters to support conservatism and pushing American politics farther to the right after the killing of a key figure in Trump's Make America Great Again movement and his major ally. Many on the right have hailed Kirk as a "martyr," and Turning Point USA has received tens of thousands of pleas to start new chapters in colleges and high schools.
The peculiar task was given at the same time that Turning Point USA made its first trip back to Utah since the killing of its founder. In late September, thousands of fans gathered to pay tribute to the late podcaster.
Alex Clark, presenter of the conservative podcast, kicked off the event, describing it as the group's biggest on-campus tour stop.
“I’m not here to eulogize Charlie Kirk,” Clark said stressing that she was there to “pass the torch on to every single one of you.”
