"... This series of blasts was obviously heinous acts, something that we abhor. Our condolences go out to those killed and injured, and to their families. We wish them a speedy recovery," State department's acting Spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos said on Monday.

Forty-nine people were killed and 145 injured in a string of bomb attacks in Ahmedabad on Saturday. A wave of bombings earlier struck Bangalore, leaving two people dead in the IT city.

When asked to comment on a report that a computer belonging to a US citizen has been seized because it was allegedly used to send an e-mail on behalf of an outfit that claimed the responsibility of blasts, Gallegos said, "we've seen the reports, but I don't have any more information to verify any of it."
