Four year old raped in Madhya Pradesh

A four-year old girl was brutally raped by an unidentified person in wee hours of Wednesday in the porch of the railway community hall in Damoh, police said

A four-year old girl was brutally raped by an unidentified person in wee hours of Wednesday in the porch of the railway community hall in Damoh, police said. Damoh is 250 km west of Bhopal

The yet to be identified accused has been caught in the close circuit cameras at the railway station. In one camera he is seen standing near the father and daughter who are sleeping and on the other he is seen carrying the sleeping child on his shoulder outside the railway station. Police have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for the identification of the accused.

The sexual assault left the minor unconscious and she was found at around 6 am by some passersby. She was rushed to the district hospital and later sent to Jabalpur for better treatment, police said.

Civil surgeon Dr Mamta Timori, who attended to the girl at the district hospital said that she was badly bleeding from the private parts and she had been sexually assaulted. “She is stable, but has been referred to Jabalpur because she needs the services of a paediatric surgeon.

Damoh SP Vivek Agarwal said case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act lodge against unidentified person. In Madhya Pradesh rape with minor below 12 years invites the death penalty.

Kotwali town inspector (TI) Arvind Singh Danghi said that girl is daughter of itinerant harmonium repairman who is a native of a village under Tejgarh police station of Damoh .

TI Danghi said that so far investigation have revealed that she was alone with her father at railway station, who has a habitual drunkard.
