Actor Ali Fazal will soon be seen in a Hollywood biopic.

Actor Ali Fazal, whose second international project Victoria and Abdul recently released, has signed a Hollywood biopic. And while working in the West, he has made certain observations about Hollywood’s filmmaking procedure.

“The international filmmakers don’t depend on formulas. In Bollywood, we don’t trust our instincts. I’m not an authority to say what change we can make here, but if we begin to adapt, the change will happen organically,” says Ali, whose first Hollywood venture was Fast and Furious 7 (2015).

Elaborating on the difference between the filmmaking process in India and abroad, Ali says, “There is a huge difference. We are almost 20 years behind, but we can catch up with them. Filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane are breaking the mould and creating some good stuff.”

Ali, who wants to give a perfect shape to his career in Hollywood, has a plan of action in place.“I met a couple of filmmakers there . It’s important to see what the market has in store for me and then take further steps. When I began acting in Bollywood, I had limited choices; similarly, I don’t have major choices in Hollywood now,” he says.
