A source close to the actor-film-maker, says, "Although Farhan has directed Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011) — which saw actors play police officers — he has never essayed the role of a cop himself. And he is very excited to take the first step in a new direction. It will surely be challenging for him."

Chopra’s film, which will be directed by Bejoy Nambiar, will also star veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, and will feature Farhan as a member of the Anti-Terrorist Squad. The insider adds, "Farhan feels that it will be challenging for him to portray a policeman because he has never played such a character before. This (Bejoy’s film) will be a more commercial project for him."

Despite repeated attempts, Farhan couldn’t be reached for a comment.
