Freddy Daruwala is among the few Bollywood actors who prefer to stay guarded about their personal lives. The actor, who shot to fame with his negative role in Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), says his wife and family members are not comfortable staying under the public glare.

Freddy Daruwala plays a negative role in the upcoming Telugu film, Touch Chesi Chudu.

“My family prefers leading a normal life. You won’t find their photos online nor do I share them on social media. My mother still goes out for grocery shopping and bargains with the seller. To keep them away from public attention, I make sure that I don’t speak much about them. If they get recognised, they have to follow a certain lifestyle, and they aren’t ready for it,” says Freddy.

The 33-year-old has been married Crystal Variava, a doctor by profession, for six years now. Although he doesn’t talk much about his wife, Freddy has never kept his relationship hidden. “It’s not that I deny that I am married, but I don’t want to talk about what’s going on in my personal [married] life. I’d rather talk about my work,” he adds.

Freddy shares that when he will eventually have children, he will make sure that they lead a regular life. “I don’t want my kids to grow up on the basis that they are born to a film star. They must lead a life away from all the attention. They should be able to make a name for themselves,” says the actor, who has worked in films such as Force 2 (2016) and Commando 2 (2017).
