After a good run on TV with many successful shows, Gurmeet Choudhary made a smooth switch to films with producer Mukesh Bhatt’s Khamoshiyan. His role in the film wassmall, but pivotal. The actor soon landed a prominent part in the Hate Story franchise, which is being produced by Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt.

Vishal Pandya, who will direct the movie, had earlier cast Sharman Joshi in the lead role. In May, Sharman was dropped and Gurmeet was signed on, as Vishal apparently felt that the latter was apt for the film.

However, within a month, the director changed his view and opted for Sharman once again, saying that he wanted “a performer” for the role.

Ask Gurmeet about this change, and the actor says, “I could not do the film because I have another project lined up on similar dates. What anybody says is not my concern. I am too busy building my career to be bothered by anything.”
