The actor, who is turning 60, is excited that her next Bengali film actor-director Aparna Sen’s Goynar Baksho is releasing on the same day. “It’s a pleasant surprise that my film is releasing on the same day. Some of my friends feel that organising a small premiere would be a good birthday gift,” says Chatterjee.

The actor has taken a back seat from acting but she insists that she hasn’t retired and will only work in films of her choice. “I haven’t been working because I am a very lazy person and have to be motivated to do a film. People wrongly say that I am making a comeback every time they see me in a film. I had never left, so this term ‘comeback’ irritates me a lot,” says Chatterjee, who faced the camera for Goynar Baksho four years after her role in Aparna’s last film, The Japanese Wife (2010).

The actor isn’t having a huge celebration on her birthday, but enjoys the gesture if her family members take an initiative. “I am not very enthusiastic about celebrating birthdays. Of course, I feel nice when people wish me or send me gifts. Or if my family members plan to have lunch or dinner together, it would be nice. However, I always remember everyone’s birthdays and even call to wish them,” says the actor.
