Being a celebrity has its advantages and disadvantages. While one may have a huge fan following and a glamorous life, dealing with the constant media glare can be cumbersome.

“I behave like a normal middle-class person. I can relate to everybody. So, when I come under the scanner now, I’m okay with it. I speak very rationally so that I am not misrepresented,” says John Abraham.
“I behave like a normal middle-class person. I can relate to everybody. So, when I come under the scanner now, I’m okay with it. I speak very rationally so that I am not misrepresented,” says John Abraham.

But Bollywood actor John Abraham, whose personal life was under the scanner recently, with several media reports suggested that his marriage with wife Priya Runchal was on the rocks, says he has learnt to deal with the media glare. “After a point, you get conditioned to accept things that happen around you. Over the years, I have got used to behaving in a certain way. I have become more rational. I behave like a normal middle-class person. I can relate to everybody. So, when I come under the scanner now, I’m okay with it. I also speak rationally so that I am not misrepresented,” says John.

The actor adds that Bollywood celebs are “strange”. He says, “The problem with actors is that we get worried when we are not under the scanner. So, when the focus is on us, we complain. But when it’s not on us, we miss it (laughs).”

John doesn’t make many public appearances with wife Priya Runchal, and he opened up about the reason. “Anyone else in her place would love to come out in a red gown and walk the red carpet, she’d rather concentrate on credible causes. While some flaunt their partners on Facebook or Twitter, I hold her in high regard,” he said.
