I hope Salman likes my work in Bajirao Mastani: Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh wants a pat on his back from superstar Salman Khan for his take on the Maratha warrior in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Salman was the original choice to play Peshwa Bajirao in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film.

Salman Khan was the original choice to play Peshwa Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer Singh, who was finalised for the role and will be seen in the film, wants Salman to like his take on the Maratha warrior. “I know he was to play the role but I hope he likes my work. I hope he gives a pat on my back,” Ranveer said.

Salman was supposed to do the film, which the director had been wanting to make from past 12 years. But things did not work out and the role eventually landed in Ranveer’s lap.

When asked if the actor discussed the role with Salman, Ranveer, 30, said, “No. I didn’t get to meet him. Last few times that I met him were during Bajrangi Bhaijaan and recently on Bigg Boss where I went to promote the movie. I didn’t take any tips from him.”

“This (role) is my creation. I know he was to play the role but I hope he likes my work. I hope he gives a pat on my back.”
