Taapsee made a shift from southern cinema to Hindi filmdom with Chashme Baddoor, which also stars Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma. “It was sheer good luck that such a successful director decided to work with younger people for the first time, and especially me who was a newcomer for Hindi industry,” she said in a statement.

Pannu added: “I still can’t thank him enough for giving me a perfect start with a commercial entertainer which helped me get to masses. He didn’t even audition me and went with his instinct after he met me once. I owe my kick-start to him.”

Taapsee is now working on films like Pink with Amitabh Bachchan and Ghazi with Rana Daggubati.
