Actor Rasika Dugal has joined the cast of Farhan Akhtar’s web series, Mirzapur, and she feels that taking up a web series is a good option for every actor.

“I’m always on the lookout for roles that can help me grow as an artist. The medium of web series reaches audience in different parts of the world and that’s what every artist is looking for. Web series are offering the kind of growth I’m looking for,” says Rasika.

The 32-year-old says her part in the upcoming series, co-starring actor Ali Fazal, is very different from her roles in her films such as No Smoking (2007), Qissa (2015) and Manto (2017).

“I play the role of a young woman married into a rich and influential household. There are many layers to this part... much more than what meets the eye. It’s very different from the parts I have played so far, so I’m excited about exploring this one. She is fierce, intense, aware of her sexuality and beautifully flawed. It is one of those rare situations where a good script meets an interesting ensemble and I am thrilled to be a part of it,” she says.
