Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria called Farhan Akhtar to congratulate him after watching the teaser of his next

Farhan Akhtar will be seen playing the role of an officer of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Bejoy Nambiar’s next, Wazir.

Recently, when Rakesh Maria, the Commissioner of Mumbai Police, watched the teaser of the film, he was so impressed by Farhan’s portrayal of a cop, that he called him up to compliment him.

“Mr Maria complimented Farhan on his look and body language in the teaser,” says an insider. Apparently, Maria feels that the actor will do justice to the role.

Farhan was glad to receive the commissioner’s call, and to know that he is looking forward to watching the film. “Farhan feels that it comes with an added responsibility, since he hasn’t done something like this before. But he really wants to know what Mr Maria feels once he watches the film,” adds the insider. For his intense cop role, the actor has apparently gone through rigorous physical training.

While Farhan couldn’t be reached for a comment, the film’s spokesperson confirmed the news, and said, “Rakesh Maria applauded Farhan after watching the teaser, as he felt that he looked quite like a cop.”
