Mahindra XUV700 SUV to be renamed to XUV 7XO, launch on Jan 5th
Mahindra XUV 7XO will be launched on January 5th. It is a facelifted version of the XUV700, but the brand has renamed it just like they did with XUV 3XO.
Mahindra has officially confirmed that they are renaming the XUV700 to XUV 7XO. The announcement came in a teaser that the homegrown manufacturer shared on its social media page. Mahindra also confirmed that they will launch the XUV 7XO on January 5th in the Indian market.
We speculated this last month when the brand submitted a trademark filing for the ‘XUV 7XO' moniker. This is the second time that the brand has renamed one of its SUVs. Earlier, Mahindra renamed the XUV300 to XUV 3XO. This is not the only case; the brand has also submitted trademark applications for the XUV 1XO and XUV 5XO nameplates. Therefore, it is possible that new products utilising these names may be introduced in the future.

What will be the changes to the design of the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The exterior of the XUV 7XO will feature a redesigned headlight configuration. It will incorporate dual barrels similar to those observed on the Scorpio N. These will continue to be LED headlamps, although Mahindra may opt for a projector arrangement this time. The Daytime Running Lamp will no longer extend downward; instead, it will adopt a U-shape.
A new grille will be introduced at the front, reminiscent of the grille seen on the XUV500. The bumper will also undergo a redesign. On the sides, a new set of alloy wheels will be included, while the flush door handles and roof rails will be retained. At the rear, the tail lamp design will be new, just like we have seen on the recently launched XEV 9S.
What will be the changes to the interior of the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The XEV 9S will now influence the interior design of the XUV 7XO. Therefore, anticipate it to feature the identical two-spoke steering wheel adorned with an illuminated Mahindra logo and a three-screen configuration, which indicates that the passenger will also have their own display. Mahindra may additionally incorporate Dolby Atmos, captain seats for the second row, as well as a ventilation feature, front parking sensors, and automatic parking, among other enhancements.

What will be the engine options of the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The XUV 7XO will be equipped with the same engine options as the existing XUV700. This includes a 2.2-litre diesel engine available in two different tuning configurations, as well as a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine offered in a single tuning configuration. Nevertheless, we anticipate that the turbo petrol engine will also feature driving modes, as it tends to consume fuel quite rapidly. There will be no changes to the transmission options. So, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be on offer, along with an all-wheel drive powertrain as well.
