Man held for molesting 4-yr-old granddaughter

Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing his fouryear- old grand daughter on Saturday. The minor’s mother complained to the police that the grandfather misbehaved with her daughter in their house at Dainik Bhaskar Colony, Sector 25 on Friday night.

The minor’s mother complained to the police that the grandfather misbehaved with her daughter in their house at Dainik Bhaskar Colony, Sector 25 on Friday night.

Sources said that the accused, Mohan Birla, forced his way into the girl’s room and tried to molest her. The mother alleged that the accused had been harassing them for some time now.

She called the child helpline for support where officials guided her to register a case.

Police sources also said that there is an ongoing property dispute between the complainant and the accused. A case was registered under Section 354A (sexual harassment) of the IPC and Section 8 of POSCO Act 2012.

The accused has been remanded in 14-day judicial custody.
