Skill centres for Bathinda, SAS Nagar

For empowering women in the state, the Punjab government is going to build apparel skill training centers in SAS Nagar and Bathinda for their free training. Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal took a decision to this effect on Monday here in a meeting of high-level officers and government technical training institutes' representatives at his office.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal took a decision to this effect on Monday here in a meeting of high-level officers and government technical training institutes' representatives at his office. He asked the principal secretary for industries to train the women so good that they could further train other women in their villages, so that it enabled them to earn their livelihood with dignity.

The CM also consented to making a committee led by the principal secretary for industries and commerce for finalising this project. He proposed a six-month certificate course and a one-year diploma under it, besides free hostel facility for the trainees.
