“Dog is faithful”: CM Bommai slams Siddaramaiah for his 'puppy' comments

Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has slammed Congress leader Siddaramaiah for his ‘PM’s puppy’ comments and said that the people of Karnataka will teach him a lesson in upcoming assembly elections. Bommai also alleged the former CM of dividing the society during his government.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Bommai said, “The comments reflect the personality of Siddaramaiah and his party members. The dog is a faithful animal and it's doing its job faithfully. I am faithful to the people of Karnataka and that is why they stand with our government. I have not divided society like Siddaramaiah did in his tenure as CM. We made people happy and did not make them go through hard times like the Congress government.”
Basavaraj Bommai also responded to Siddaramaiah's open debate challenge. He said, “There is no better place than Vidhana Soudha (state legislative assembly) to accept his challenge and we are ready to take his questions.”
While addressing the crowd in Karnataka’s Ballari, Siddaramaiah said, “Basavaraj Bommai came to power through ‘Operation Lotus’ in Karnataka. If you have guts and courage, then get ₹5,495 crore from the Centre. He is like a puppy in front of Narendra Modi and trembles before him.” The assembly elections in Karnataka are likely to be held in May.
