Bihar woman paraded naked, beaten up after boy she was seen with is found dead
The 16-year-old boy was found dead after he had allegedly gone to meet the woman in the red light district.
A woman was assaulted, stripped and paraded naked on Monday on the streets of Bihiya town of Bihar’s Bhojpur district by a mob, which suspected her to be involved in the death of a 16-year-old boy, police said.
The protesters set ablaze a number of roadside stalls, houses besides motorcycles. They blocked the main road and Patna-buxar railway tracks, disrupting vehicular and railway traffic for more than three hours.
They also pelted stones on passenger trains and police. Security has been beefed up in and around Bihiya following the clashes.
The woman was probably attacked as the deceased Bimlesh Kumar alias Chhotu Sao was last seen with her.
IG N H Khan said the woman has been rescued from the rampaging mob and four policemen, including Bihiya SHO, have been suspended for dereliction of duty.
According to police, Sao a resident of Damodarpur village under Shahpur area of Bhojpur district, was allegedly assaulted and killed by some unidentified persons in Dafli locality. His body was later found near Bihiya railway station.
After the news spread, irate residents of Damodarpur gathered in large numbers and started protesting.
The protesters suspected that those living in a red-light area nearby would have strangled the youth to death.
They did not allow the local administration to take Sao’s body for postmortem. They demanded arrest of suspects even as senior police officials, including the Bhojpur SP, appealed to them maintain calm and assured action.
The Dafli locality is known as an area of sex workers and “mujra”. The deceased, an Intermediate student, had allegedly gone to meet the woman there.
