Four men coming from Delhi were allegedly robbed of ₹30 lakh by a group of around five men at gun-point near Bastara village on NH-44 in Karnal on Wednesday night.

Madhuban police said that a case was registered, while they had traced the accused and their arrest will be disclosed on Friday. (HT File)

One of the victims, Narender, said that he along with his three colleagues were coming from Delhi to Karnal with the money for land registration.

He said that they were waiting for the person, who was to receive the payment, arriving near Bastada a black Scorpio car with no number plate stopped in front of his car.

“4-5 men got down from the car and went straight to the trunk of his Fronx car, asking to open it. When I protested, the accused started assaulting him. He was hit over the eye with the butt of a pistol and also beaten with sticks. After this, the accused fled from the spot with the bag,” he said.

Madhuban police said that a case was registered, while they had traced the accused and their arrest will be disclosed on Friday.
