Burglars strike at mobile showroom in Ludhiana
Burglars broke into a mobile showroom in Sarabha Nagar Market in Ludhiana, and made away with gadgets worth ₹40 lakh and ₹38,000 cash
Burglars broke into a mobile showroom in Sarabha Nagar Market on Wednesday night, and made away with gadgets worth ₹40 lakh and ₹38,000 cash.
The robbery, which was captured on closed circuit televisions (CCTVs) on the premises, lasted for around 45 minutes. The burglars entered the store at around 2am and left after around 2.45am.
The store owner, Rishu Pal, said the robbers decamped with expensive mobile phones, watches , ear pods and other accessories. The thieves broke open three locks and the shutter to enter the showroom.
The robbery was discovered the next morning when the watchman realised that the shutter was broken. Division 5 station house officer Neeraj Chaudhary said, “We are collecting details of the valuables stolen, following which an FIR will be registered. The thieves have been caught stealing on the CCTV cameras and efforts are on to nab the accused.”
Bakery robbed
In another incident, a gang of thieves broke into a bakery shop in the Kot Mangal Singh area on Tuesday night and decamped with cash and two mobile phones.
The incident came to light when the owner of the bakery unit, who lives on the first floor of the shop, came downstairs and was shocked to find the shutter broken.
The owner of the bakery said two persons with muffled faces were captured on CCTV cameras in the area.
The thieves decamped with ₹7,000 cash and two mobile phones. “No other incident of theft was reported in the area,” said the investigating officer.
