Two days after a suspended superintendent engineer of the UHBVN was found dead in Karnal, chairperson of the Haryana Scheduled Castes Commission, Banto Kataria, met his family on Wednesday to express her condolences.

Kataria, a senior BJP leader, arrived at the PWD rest house, where she inquired about the entire incident surrounding his death, from administrative officials.

She instructed officials to ensure that all paperwork in this case is completed and said the government stands with the victim’s family.

Speaking to reporters at the rest house, she said she had come to Karnal to meet the victim’s family and share their grief.

“He was a member of my community and like a younger brother,” she said.
