Gangster involved in the murder of International kabaddi player Sandeep Singh Sandhu, alias Sandeep Nangal Ambian, were produced in Jalandhar’s sessions court on Monday.

Sharpshooters, including Vikas Mahele, Amit Daggar and Kaushal Chaudharu, were brought from Tihar jail. Other accused, including Rajinder Singh, Jujhar Singh, Sachin Kumar, Yadvinder Singh, Manjot Kaur and Fateh Singh, also appeared in the court.
Main accused Harinder Singh Fauji failed to appear before the court. Fauji is presently lodged in the Kapurthala jail, where he was attacked by the inmates last week. As per reports, he is presently under medical supervision inside the jail premises.
The court has ordered in person hearing of the accused during the next hearing of the case scheduled on August 21.
It may be mentioned that Sandeep was killed in broad daylight by assailants during a kabaddi match in Mallian Khurd village in Jalandhar on March 14, 2022. The police claimed that Sandeep was killed due to rivalry between kabaddi associations over international and national kabaddi leagues.
At least 12 accused, including noted kabaddi promotor Surjan Singh Chatha, have been arrested in this matter. Infamous Bambiha gang took responsibility for killing Nangal Ambian by hiring contract killers from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
