J&K BJP MLA’s missing son traced to sister’s Delhi flat

Jammu: The 17-year-old son of BJP MLA Vijay Sharma has been traced to his sister’s rented accommodation in Saket, New Delhi, ending a brief multi-state search operation, senior police officials said on Wednesday.
Aditya Sharma, a Class 11 student, had been reported missing on Tuesday evening after failing to return home from a badminton session at a private school in the Hiranagar border area of Kathua district.
CCTV footage captured the youth boarding a Jammu-bound bus at Hiranagar Morh around 4.51pm on Tuesday. He subsequently boarded a Haryana Roadways bus from Kalibari and arrived in the national capital around 5.30am on Wednesday.
Upon arrival, he went directly to Saket to meet his sister, Anandita Sharma, who resides there and is preparing for the civil services examination. She alerted the family in Hiranagar that Aditya had arrived safely.
The sudden disappearance of the MLA’s son had triggered a high alert across the Kathua-Jammu belt. Multiple Jammu and Kashmir Police teams were deployed, scanning transit points and placing border checkposts on high alert. Authorities had also coordinated with Punjab Police to monitor vehicles moving toward the neighbouring state.
Police confirmed the teenager is safe and reunited with family members.
