Ludhiana man booked after 11-year-old gives birth to child

An FIR has been registered against the accused, the victim said would barge into her house once her parents left for the factory they worked in and would regularly sexually abuse her in Ludhiana

An 11-year-old girl gave birth to her rapist’s child at the civil hospital on Monday.

An FIR has been registered against one Shashikant, who the victim said would barge into her house once her parents left for the factory they worked in and would regularly sexually abuse her. The victim said that she had told a relative about the incident, and her predicament, but the relative threatened her, and told her not to tell her parents. The girl had been staying at the relative’s house for some time.

Station house officer Ranbir Singh said the girl was taken to the civil hospital by her parents after she fainted.

A case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered against the accused. A hunt is on for his arrest.
