No physical classes in Chandigarh schools till Jan 10

They are, however, free to hold online classes, but not before 9 am. For board classes, i.e Classes 10 and 12, schools are permitted to open, but not earlier than 9.30 am. The classes for these students must end by 3.30 pm.

In wake of the severe weather conditions, the Chandigarh education department has barred all government, aided and private schools from holding physical classes for students up to Class 8, till January 10. Earlier, the winter vacations were scheduled to end on January 7. The department has also allowed principals and heads of double-shift schools to call evening-shift staff in the morning if required.
