Kaushambi blast: House of cracker unit owner’s son demolished
The demolition comes a day after razing of four shops allegedly used as godowns by the factory owner

The district administration in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi and the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) team demolished the allegedly illegally constructed house of Naushad’s son Adil late on Tuesday evening as part of a continuing crackdown following the tragedy.
“The 60 square metre house was constructed with a basement, a ground floor and two storeys. The basement and ground floor were used for commercial activities while the top two floors were used for residential purposes. As the site falls under PDA jurisdiction, the owner should have obtained map approval from the PDA which they had not, making the construction illegal,” said PDA zonal officer Gangesh Kumar.
A joint team of PDA and Chayal tehsil officials carried out the demolition at Mahmoodpur Manauri. The action began around 6.30 pm and continued for nearly two hours, officials said.
The demolition came a day after four shops allegedly used as godowns by the factory owner were razed late on Monday night. The administration had also planned to demolish his house on Monday, but the action could not be completed due to paucity of time.
SDM, Chayal, Prerna Gautam, DSP, Kaushambi, Arun Kumar Shukla and PDA officials were present during the demolition. A large number of people gathered at the site as the demolition was carried out. Relatives of the factory owner were also present, but there was no resistance to the action.
Officials said the administration was also identifying other allegedly illegally constructed houses and shops belonging to the factory owner and his family members for further action.
