According to the police, the woman, a resident of Vasai, climbed the nearly 20-foot-high tower in Madhuban area of Suraksha Smart City following a dispute with her boyfriend, who had allegedly refused to marry her.
Mumbai: A woman, 22, was rescued after spending more than four hours atop an electric tower in Vasai East on Sunday, prompting a prolonged operation by police and fire brigade personnel.

According to the police, the woman, a resident of Vasai, climbed the nearly 20-foot-high tower in Madhuban area of Suraksha Smart City following a dispute with her boyfriend, who had allegedly refused to marry her.
The boyfriend immediately alerted the police and the fire brigade. Emergency personnel rushed to the spot and spent several hours attempting to persuade the woman to come down.
The fire brigade personnel subsequently launched a rescue operation and brought her down on Sunday afternoon.
The woman and her boyfriend were later taken to the police station for inquiry. Police contacted their families and counselled them. The man has now agreed to marry the woman.
