A 30-year-old Delhi Police head constable was found dead inside a hotel room in Sahibabad’s Rajendra Nagar on Sunday, police said, adding that it seems to be a suicide case.

According to police, the woman was a resident of Delhi and checked in at the hotel on Saturday evening. Later that night, a man, also a Delhi Police officer, arrived to the room, police added.
“The man stayed in the room for about 40 minutes and left. On Sunday afternoon, the hotel staff arrived at the room to check if the woman wanted to check out. The door of the room was open and they found the woman hanging from the ceiling fan. Police were informed and the body was sent for autopsy,” Amit Saxena, ACP (Sahibabad), said.
“The man is also a head constable with Delhi police. The autopsy report of the deceased indicated ante-mortem hanging, suggesting she died by suicide, and no foul play emerged during initial investigation. The woman’s family said they will soon file a police complaint,” the ACP added.
No note was recovered from the room or her phone, police said.
