AUS vs WI T20 World Cup 2021 Highlights: David Warner hit an unbeaten 89 off 56 balls as Australia clinched a massive eight-wicket win against West Indies in the Super 12 clash at the ongoing T20 World Cup. In response to West Indies' 157/7, Warner along with Aaron Finch got off to a brisk start, adding quick 33 runs in just 3.3 overs. After Finch's dismissal, Warner added a match-winning 124-run stand with Mitchell Marsh for the second wicket to help their side close the match in just 16.2 overs. Marsh scored 53 off 32 balls before he was dismissed by Chris Gayle. Meanwhile, after being invited to bat first, West Indies put up 157/7 in 20 overs. The team started off on a slow note, losing three wickets inside the powerplay overs adding 50 runs in the first six overs. However, some hitting by skipper Kieron Pollard, who scored 44 off 31 balls, and a late blitz by Andre Russell (18 off 7 balls) powered West Indies to a challenging total. Bigger picture
While Australia eye the semi-final berth, West Indies will look for a win to ensure a direct qualification to the Super 12 for next year's World Cup. If they fail to do so, they will have to play round 1 like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to advance to the next stage. As per the rules, the top eight teams earn direct qualification. West Indies are currently eighth, while Bangladesh are ninth.

It is unfortunate that we couldn't get that one last hurrah in terms of getting to the next phase of the tournament. How crucial will be Adam Zampa?
Adam Zampa has been a key player for Australia, picking five wickets to skittle Bangladesh for 73. The leg-spinner has so far claimed 10 victims in the tournament and the captain considers him a "huge weapon".
"He's someone who's been so consistent over the last couple of years in both white ball formats of the game. He often bowls maybe sometimes one (over) in the powerplay but then he'll bowl straight after the powerplay. He puts so much pressure on opposition. What's been the most important thing is he gets very, very good players out consistently," said Finch about the spinner.

A special message to Dwayne Bravo
Dwayne Bravo will hang his boots from international cricket after West Indies final T20 World Cup clash against Australia. “I think the time has come,” the 38-year-old told ICC’s post-match show on Facebook. “I’ve had a very good career … had some ups and downs, but as I look back at it, I’m very grateful to represent the region and the Caribbean people for so long.”
‘Stick to our guns’
Ahead of the match, Australia captain Aaron Finch said that his side will stick to their guns.
“You'd love to keep it in our control, that's all you can focus on. As soon as you start hoping other teams win or other teams lose, it just clouds your judgment and your vision. It's really important that we just go and stick to our guns, stick to our process because we know that's good enough when we get it right,” said Finch in an official ICC release.
West Indies play for pride
West Indies come into the contest on the back of a 20-run defeat against Sri Lanka and will look to finish their campaign on a winning note. Interestingly, the team had defeated Australia 4-1 in a T20I series earlier this year.
What happened in Australia's previous encounter?
Australia secured a decisive victory against Bangladesh, as they chased down a paltry 74 in just 6.2 overs. The team will hope to repeat a similar effort against the reigning champions in Abu Dhabi.
