No one knows better on how to deal with the spectators at a cricket venue and former India captain Virat Kohli showed it once again why he is the best in this. In his 100th Test appearance for India, Kohli got the crowd to cheer and get behind the team and the bowler during the first match of the two-game series against Sri Lanka on Sunday at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Kohli is playing his 100th Test for India. He became the 12th cricketer to represent India in 100 Test matches, joining the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar, and 71st overall.

He was felicitated by present India head coach Rahul Dravid in the presence of his teammates and wife Anushka Sharma.

"I want to thank the BCCI and getting my 100th Test cap from one of my childhood heroes is indeed amazing," Kohli said as Dravid presented him with a special cap.

"It is a special moment for me. My wife is here and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it couldn't have been possible without you. With the amount we play with three formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is that I played 100 games in the purest format," says Kohli.

Kohli scored 45 off 76 in his first innings before being befuddled by left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya. India eventually finished with 574 for eight before Rohit Sharma declared the innings. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the batsman with his record-breaking and unbeaten knock of 175.

Jadeja later picked a five-wicket haul as well, with his 5 for 41, 10th in his career and first in five years as Sri Lanka were bundled for 174. India enforced a follow-on in Mohali.
