    India vs England Highlights 2nd Test, Day 2: Jasprit Bumrah became the fastest India pacer to take 150 Test wickets and then completed his five-wicket haul to put India in complete control of the second Test match in Visakhapatnam. England were bowled out for 253 after Bumrah finished with 6/45. In their second innings, India were 28/0 at stumps on Day 2. England had got off to a good start after India were all out for 396 but the hosts have turned the tables in the second session. Kuldeep Yadav ended a dangerous-looking opening stand between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett by dismissing the latter. Crawley then started hitting boundaries for fun before Axar Patel ended his stay on 76 off just 78. Jasprit Bumrah then took over, first dismissing Joe Root for the eighth time in his career and then cleaning up Ollie Pope, who had scored 196 in his last innings, with a vicious reverse-swinging yorker. It has brought England captain Ben Stokes into the middle with Jonny Bairstow. In the last session, Bumrah dismissed Bairstow and then Kuldeep got into the act with two more wickets to put England in real trouble.

    Earlier, India were all out for a score of just 396 runs on a placid wicket despite Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring 209 off 290 balls on his own. Jaiswal hardly had any support throughout the Indian innings, with the next best score being Shubman Gill's 34. Jaiswal became the youngest Indian to get to that mark in Test cricket after Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar in what has been a colossal innings that has almost single-handedly taken India close to 400. He started Day 2 on 179 with Ravichandran Ashwin at the other end. While the pair managed to survive the first half an hour of Day 2 and even kept the scoreboard ticking, Ashwin fell to a fiery James Anderson, who alongwith Shoaib Bashir, was England's best bowler all morning.

    Jaiswal was the only Indian batter who managed to capitalise on the start he got, with Shubman Gill's 34 off 46 being the next highest score thus far despite a pitch that was as friendly for batters as it gets in India. It may only get more difficult to bat on it as the match wears on but India leaving runs on the field and not scoring as many as they could have is one of the reasons why they ended up losing the first Test in Hyderabad.

    It is telling that despite Jaiswal getting to the score that he did eventually on Day 1, none of the stands he had with his teammates went past 100. The best was the third wicket stand with Shreyas Iyer which produced 90 runs in 131 balls. Jaiswal contributed 63 of it in 72 balls and Iyer ended up falling to Tom Hartley on 27 off 59. Shubman Gill seemed far better than he ever has in his recent Test innings but was undone by the genius of James Anderson. Debutant Rajat Patidar looked good as well but fell on 32 to an excellent delivery from Rehan Ahmed. Axar Patel was given added responsibility with the bat, being sent ahead of KS Bharat at No.6 and he threw it away by slashing debutant Shoaib Bashir straight to backward point while on 27. Bharat himself then threw it away by getting caught in the same region off Rehan on 17. The hosts thus gifted the bowling side two wickets in the last half an hour of play on Day 1.

    This is despite the fact that India clearly came in with a very different plan from the one with which they walked out for their first innings in Hyderabad last week. Jaiswal was watchful at the start with captain and opening partner Rohit Sharma, as opposed to the wild-eyed flurry of boundaries with which he began the Indian first innings in the first Test. The Indian opening pair scored just 40 runs 17.3 overs before an overly defensive Rohit became Bashir's maiden Test wicket. Gill also bided his time and was starting to shift gears well when he fell to Anderson.

    For England, their debutant spinner Shoaib Bashir was the star of the show. He bowled 28 overs, 10 more than the next bowler who had the most overs who was Tom Hartley, and ended with figures of 2/100. Rehan didn't bowl for much of the day but came in for 16 overs towards the end of it and produced two wickets while Hartley dismissed Iyer and thus ended India's best partnership of the innings thus far. Veteran Anderson, who made his debut before Rehan and Bashir were born, showed just how dangerous he is regardless of the conditions. He steamed in for 17 overs, gave just 30 runs and took the wicket of Gill.

    India vs England Live Score 2nd Test Day 2, IND vs ENG: Shoaib Bashir takes the final wicket, he finishes with three wickets, having bowled a whopping 38 overs. No 400 for India, despite one of their batters scoring 209 on his own. That shows the kind of disparity between what Jaiswal did and what the rest of the Indian batters managed and therein also would lie the feeling of a missed opportunity for the hosts. Just one more batter managing to score about 80 could have taken India past 450. Now, India need to make sure that they don't give the England batters any quarter. 396 is not a small score but this England side can overturn it before the end of the day if India are not careful.

Anderson had a little jibe at Jaiswal before walking back after that and it seems it may have been somethng about why the batter did not go for that one. Whether it prompted Jaiswal to go for that big shot next ball or not, we will never know. But this was the sequence of events. A number of England players run up to him to shake his hands and the crowd at the stadium gives him a standing ovation.
