Narendra and his wife Hounsa were returning to their Mahim (not Mumbai) village home after attending a wedding in Alyali in Palghar.

Road construction work was going on near Sundaram school and Narendra, who was riding the bike could not see the road construction work as the area has no streetlights. As a result the bike skidded and both fell on a side depression.

Locals rushed the duo to the Palghar hospital where Narendra was treated, and Dr Prakash Gudsoorkar, orthopedic surgeon detected a brain clot during a CT scan and at around 11:00 pm, Narendra was shifted to Leelavati Hospital.

“The patient is diabetic with hyper tension and already had undergone two heart surgeries and suffered intra cranial bleeding (intern bleeding of skull and brain) and was vomitting, hence we advised him to be shifted to the Mumbai hospital while his wife has been discharged as she suffered minor injuries”, said the medico.

Doctors also confirmed that Narendra’s condition is stable. However, Shardul has rushed from Pune - where he is currently based as a part of the Indian Premier League side Chennai Super Kings - to Mumbai to visit his parents.
