In reply, Sri Lanka lost Dimuth Karunaratne early in their innings but they rebounded from the early blow, with Kusal Mendis notching a half-century and Dhananjaya de Silva bringing up his fourth Test ton. The pitch did offer some assistance for spinners, but the hosts paid the price for a couple of dropped catches as well as some poor reviewing, losing both their reviews before the end of day’s play.
