Local organisers were sure Dhoni would come to the stadium for at least one day to watch his mates play the first Test match in Ranchi. Dhoni couldn’t have come had Jharkhand qualified for the Vijay Hazare Trophy final that is being played today. According to witnesses, Dhoni entered the stadium at around noon with friends and family. It remains to be seen if he comes to the ground during the presentation ceremony.
Dhoni retired from Tests in December 2014, having announced his retirement in the Melbourne Test against Australia.
