Gulshan Jha

Born in Malangwa, Sarlahi District, Gulshan Kumar Jha has established himself as one of the finest seam-bowling all-rounders in Nepalese cricket. Raised in Nepal, he spent four years refining his skills at the Arunodaya Cricket Academy in Ranchi, India, before returning home in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

His breakthrough came quickly while playing for the Nepal Police Club in the 2021 Kathmandu Mayor's Cup, where a match-winning 4//22 in the final caught the attention of national selectors and earned him an immediate call-up to the senior team.

Jha made history on September 17, 2021, when he made his One Day International debut against the United States he became one of the youngest players to represent Nepal in ODIs and the third-youngest ODI debutant of all time. His T20I debut followed in February 2022 against the Philippines.

Over the next few years, Jha became a core fixture in Nepal's white-ball setup, delivering clutch performances under pressure. He was named Player of the Match in the 2023 ACC Men's Premier Cup final after scoring an unbeaten half-century to seal Nepal's qualification for the 2023 Asia Cup, and he played a major role in securing Nepal's place at the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Known for his left-handed middle-order hitting and right-arm medium seam, Jha continued to write his name into record books across formats. In September 2024, he became the first Nepalese cricketer to score a half-century and take a five-wicket haul in the same ODI match. Beyond his international duties, he emerged as a headline marquee player in domestic franchise cricket, commanding top bids for Karnali Yaks in the Nepal Premier League alongside overseas stints.

Jha remained central to Nepal's ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 and T20 World Cup qualification campaigns through 2025 and 2026. In September 2026, he delivered vital middle-order contributions and medium-pace spells during the ACC Men's Premier Cup in Malaysia, cementing his standing as a versatile all-rounder and a pillar for the future of Nepalese cricket.
