Noor ul Rahman

Born in Kabul in 2001, Noor Rahman is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batter who has risen through Afghanistan's domestic and development pathway. He made his first-class debut for Maiwand Champions in 2023 and quickly showed promise with the bat, accumulating 450 runs in his first seven first-class matches, including two centuries and a highest score of 132. His performances earned him opportunities with Afghanistan A and in the country's List A and T20 competitions.

Rahman's progress gathered further momentum in 2025, when he featured for Hindukush Strikers in first-class cricket before making his mark in the Shpageeza Cricket League with Amo Sharks. His T20 numbers stood out in particular, with a strike rate above 160 across his early domestic career. He also produced a memorable unbeaten 115 for Maiwand Champions, one of the highest scores of his young T20 career, underlining his ability to accelerate in the middle order.

His performances at domestic and A-team level eventually earned him a maiden call-up to Afghanistan's T20I squad for the series against Sri Lanka in March 2026. Although he remained uncapped, his selection marked another significant step in his rise, with the selectors identifying him as a top-order wicketkeeper-batter capable of providing another option alongside Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Rahman continued to strengthen his case through the 2026 domestic season, representing Band-e-Amir Region in List A cricket before turning out for Speen Ghar Tigers in the Shpageeza Cricket League. He scored 91 runs in five innings in the 2026 edition, including a 48 off 17 balls, showcasing the aggressive approach that had become a feature of his T20 game.

His progress led to another major milestone when he was named in Afghanistan's squad for the three-match T20I series against India in September 2026. The uncapped wicketkeeper-batter was selected as the second wicketkeeping option behind Gurbaz, with the call-up reflecting the growing faith in his performances across domestic and A-team cricket.
