The police have strong suspicions that this particular gang might be involved in the recent robberies in Kirti Nagar and South Extension Part-I.

The police arrested Yashpal Singh, 50, Gaurav, 24 and Vinod Kumar, 30, from Vivek Vihar. The police said Yashpal’s gang has around 10 members who specialise in committing robberies near banks.

Their unique modus operandi is that gang members chase their targets from banks after they have withdrawn cash.

“They clandestinely remove cash from vehicles or use force. They usually steal bikes, change their number plates and after committing three or four robberies, abandon the stolen vehicle,” said Arun Kampani, DCP (special cell).

The remaining gangsters — Dharampal, Rajender, Keshav, Sunil, Sandeep, Suraj, Patil and Pouna — are still at large.
