One witness shows up as 2G trial begins

Though three witnesses were supposed to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) special judge OP Saini, only Anand Subramaniam, presently working as the vice-president, Reliance Group, showed up as proceedings began.

The other two were AN Sethuraman, working as the group president of Reliance Group, and Vinod Kumar Budhiraja, chief regulatory officer (CRO) with Etisalat DB Telecom Pvt Ltd.

Subramaniam recorded his statement before the judge.

The court had Oct 22 ordered the trial to commence on Friday with all the accused declining to plead guilty to various offences.

All the 14 individuals accused in the case are in judicial custody.
