Aurad comes under the Bidar district and it is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. People of Aurad voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
In 2018, the Aurad assembly seat had 2,13,194 registered voters, 1,11,027 were male and 1,02,167 were female voters. 0.5% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Aurad constituency had 9 candidates for assembly seat contention. Aurad was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prabhu Chauhan won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Vijaykumar by a margin of 10,592 votes.
The top two candidates split 95.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prabhu Chauhan got a total of 75,061 votes, while Indian National Congress's Vijaykumar secured 64,469 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Dhanaji secured 2,605 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 51.3%, 44.0% and 1.8% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Bharatiya Janata Party's Prabhu B. Chavan defeated Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Dhanaji Bheema Jadhav by 23,191 votes.
