Bidar assembly constituency had 2,14,608 electors in 2018, out of which 1,09,861 were male voters and 1,04,721 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Bidar constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Bidar was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Rahim Khan won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Surayakanth Nagmarpalli by a margin of 10,245 votes.
The top two candidates split 97.4% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Rahim Khan got a total of 73,270 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Surayakanth Nagmarpalli secured 63,025 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate M Muniyappa secured 1,384 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 52.4%, 45.0% and 1.0% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Gurupadappa Nagamarpalli defeated Indian National Congress's Raheem Khan by 2,571 votes.
