Nanjegowda got a total of 75,677 votes, while Janata Dal (Secular)'s K.S.Manjunath Gowda secured 57,762 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Es.En.Krisshnaiah Setty Malur grabbed the third spot with 23,889 votes. The top three parties got 47.1%, 36.0% and 14.9% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Janata Dal (Secular)'s K.S. Manjunathgowda defeated independent candidate Krisshnaiah Setty Es.En. Maluru by 18,769 votes.
