Ron comes under the Gadag district and it is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. People of Ron voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
In Karnataka Assembly Election 2018, there were 2,20,702 registered voters for Ron assembly seat, out of which 1,11,122 were male and 1,09,566 were female voters. 1.2% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Ron constituency had 13 candidates for assembly seat contention. Ron was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Kalakappa Bandi winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Gurupadagouda Patil by a margin of just 7,334 votes.
The top two candidates split 95.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kalakappa Bandi got a total of 83,735 votes, while Indian National Congress's Gurupadagouda Patil secured 76,401 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Ravindranath Jambunath Doddameti secured 3,421 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 49.9%, 45.5% and 2.0% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Gurupadagouda Sanganagouda Patil outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Kalakappa Gurushanthappa Bandi by 18,227 votes.
