Behat is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Saharanpur district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Behat was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Behat assembly constituency had 3,36,569 electors in 2017, out of which 1,79,920 were male voters and 1,56,649 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.

95.4% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Naresh Saini grabbed a total of 97,035 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahaveer Singh Rana got 71,449 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohd. Iqbal bagged 71,019 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 38.7%, 28.5% and 28.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Mahaveer Singh Rana outperformed Indian National Congress's Naresh by 514 votes.
