Uttar Pradesh Election: Padrauna Assembly Constituency 2022

Padrauna is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kushinagar district. People of Padrauna voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.

Padrauna assembly constituency had 3,48,902 electors in 2017, out of which 1,91,996 were male voters and 1,56,906 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Padrauna constituency. Padrauna was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Swami Prasad Maurya won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Javed Iqbal by a margin of 40,552 votes.

89.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Swami Prasad Maurya grabbed a total of 93,649 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Javed Iqbal got 53,097 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Shivkumari Devi bagged 41,162 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 44.8%, 25.4% and 19.7% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Swami Prasad Maurya beat Indian National Congress's Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal by 8,162 votes.
